DIRECTIONS Santa Cruz is located at the top of the Monterey Bay on the Central California coast, just south of San Francisco. It is 75 miles from San Francisco International Airport and 30 miles to San Jose International Airport. Two helpful maps of the area may be found at: http://maps.ucsc.edu/cmdirections.html

To Santa Cruz

From San Francisco Airport:
Take Route 101 south to Route 85 south to Highway 17 south to Route 1 north to Santa Cruz.

From San Jose Airport:
Take Route 880 south to Highway 17 south to Route 1 north to Santa Cruz.

From Southern and Central California:
Take Route 101 north to Route 156 west to Route 1 north. Then follow Route 1 north to Santa Cruz.

From Northern California:
Take Route 5 south to Route 80 west to Route 680 south to Route 280 north. Then take Highway 17 south to Route 1 north to Santa Cruz.


To Campus

Once you're in Santa Cruz on Route 1 north, follow the highway as it becomes Mission Street through town. Then turn right on Bay Street and follow it to the campus entrance.

CAR RENTAL From the Airports

We recommend hiring HERTZ for the rental car needs. We have an agreement with them whereby insurance is included in the rate. To make a reservation please enter: 73528, in the "Company Order/Billing Reference Number" section.

To Campus

A local shuttle bus will transport guests to the conference site. It will stop at both the University Inn and the Coast Hotel on the mornings of the conference and return guests at the end of the day back to the hotel. More details on times will be posted here soon.

PARKING ON CAMPUS There will be an attendant selling permits from 8am-10am at the parking lot closest to the confrence location (just follow the signs posted at the main campus extrance).

For all other times, please purchase a permit at the Main Entrance Kiosk.

Cost of UCSC permit is $5 all day. UCSC campus shuttles are free.
